What Finally Helped me with my Productivity to Work on the Things that Matter ✨

Girish Nandan

Intuitive consultant

Most of my life, I have struggled with productivity or working on things that matters to my life. There is always some internal resistance, which I don't know how to explain. There are like multiple interests or passions conflicting and pulling into their own directions. 🔀

When I take some projects, it interests me initially, after that feels exhausting on things not aligned. Also read like countless books on productivity & self-help 📚. They look convincing and tried many but didn't give any lasting results, I lost hope and gave up life as it is, but after some period of time, finally I figured out to make it work. 🧭

The Misconceptions I Held 🤯

I believed some of the things created by society unconsciously, feeling guilt like:

  • Doing more meant being productive

  • Not doing meant failure

  • Guilt was a sign of worth

So I pushed myself hard — often without clarity or alignment. Taking big projects and working so hard at it, finally I really don’t like doing it even though others seem to be impressed, but inside I feel resistance and exhausting, also along with multiple conflicting interests.

The Shift That Changed Everything 🌿

Through self‑experiments and quiet reflection, I noticed a few simple truths:

  • It’s not about managing time ⏳

  • It’s not about checking boxes ✅

  • That path leads to exhaustion 😮‍💨

What truly matters is alignment and energy management ⚡

The Simple System That Worked for Me 🛠️

I made a small Notion template — based on what actually worked for me.

Each day I ask:

  • “What’s one thing today that will feel satisfying to complete?” 🎯

  • Then I focus on it all day, that one thing.

  • Avoid distractions — these systems are deliberately designed for distractions.

  • Protect my energy — If my energy dips, I pause — drink water, walk, stretch 🍲🚶‍♂️🌬️.

Check in on how I feel at day’s end, I reflect:

  • What went right?

  • What went wrong?

  • Overall, how you feel and make shifts for tomorrow

That’s it. No pressure. Just rhythm, attention, and care 🌾.

💛 This Still Works — And You’re Welcome to Try

I’ve shaped it into a simple Notion template, and I still use it every day.

If this resonates, I invite you to try it too — no strings, no hype — just a structure for clarity and flow.

“Tried the Flow Template? I’d love your thoughts — what worked, what didn’t, or what you’d love to see next. [Leave feedback here 🌱]
